XLth French NDC (2024)
version francaise : https://diplomania-gen.fr/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=competition_ftf:france:cdf:cdf2024
What are you talking about?
To keep on with a long tradition established in 1985 and more or less kept active since that date (outside of the health context), the 40th French NDC will take place between the 22nd & 24th of November 2024. In this year which saw the renewal of the international Diplomacy Hobby, and the rebirth of face to face play everywhere in Europe, we will be happy to host you in the hotel La Louisiane in the heart of Paris.
Where does it take place ?
At the hotel La Louisiane, at 60 rue de Seine in Paris.
Website : https://hotel-lalouisiane.com/fr
Phone : +33(0) 1 44 32 17 17
Metro : Mabillon (line 10) or Saint Germain des Prés (line 4)
RER (speed train) : Saint Michel Notre Dame (line B or C)
Why should I come ?
Regardless of your level, Diplomacy is first and foremost a game. But not any game : despite being more than 65 years old, it still has all its teeth, for instance through the recent boom of Virtual Face to Face or a very active American editor which will provide a new version next year.
The word “Championship” should not deter you : Despite its high-sounding title, the tournament is open : it is not necessary to qualify to participate, anyone is welcome, beginners as experienced players. It is not necessary to participate in all rounds. So whether you are an old-timer who wants to play one more game in remembrance of good times (and why not grab a best country award in the process) or you are here for the week-end and the whole thing including the Gunboat Open on the Fridy evening, or even if you just want to pop in and say hello without playing (we will be happy to see you), if you happen to be in the area and you are free that week-end, you have no excuse not to come.
In addition, the convention doesn't stop after the games. Many players enjoy socializing, analyze their games for hours, discover who is the person behind the player you just spent 3h with and remake the World. Located in one of the most animated area of Paris, you'll have plenty of opportunities to eat, share a drink or party.
So come and face the top european and french players, (finally) meet face to face your online or virtual opponents, or just to enjoy the game. Regardless of your motivation you'll have a fantastic time. Diplomacy, you come for the game, you come back for the players.
