The number of points awarded for a tournament depends on :

the player's ranking in the tournament; the number of ranked players in the same tournament. Let x be the number of ranked players in a tournament where there is no tie and r the root (x-1)-th of 10 :

the player ranked first in the tournament will receive 1000+x points ; the player ranked second in the tournament will receive 1000/r points; players ranked third or higher in the tournament will have the number of points of the player in nth place divided by r for the (n+1)-th place in the ranking and so on down to the last place in the ranking where the last ranked player scores 100 points. Note: points are awarded linearly on a logarithmic scale from 100 points for the player ranked last to 1000 for the player ranked first. The only exception to this linearity is the bonus for the first ranked player corresponding to the number of ranked players in the tournament.
