Tour de France 2022-2023

System

How many points does a tournament give?

The number of points awarded for a tournament depends on :

the player's ranking in the tournament; the number of ranked players in the same tournament. Let x be the number of ranked players in a tournament where there is no tie and r the root (x-1)-th of 10 :

the player ranked first in the tournament will receive 1000+x points ; the player ranked second in the tournament will receive 1000/r points; players ranked third or higher in the tournament will have the number of points of the player in nth place divided by r for the (n+1)-th place in the ranking and so on down to the last place in the ranking where the last ranked player scores 100 points. Note: points are awarded linearly on a logarithmic scale from 100 points for the player ranked last to 1000 for the player ranked first. The only exception to this linearity is the bonus for the first ranked player corresponding to the number of ranked players in the tournament.

How are the Tour de France Diplomatie rankings calculated over the season?

To be ranked in the Tour de France, you must have been ranked in two or more Tour de France tournaments. It is not possible to self-exclude from the Tour de France.

  • Major tournaments Face to Face(WDC, EDC and national championships (France, Belgium, Switzerland)) are counted at 100%.

For the other tournaments,

  • the one that has awarded the most points to a player (according to the calculation in the previous section) is counted at 100% for that player,
  • the next tournament is counted at 80%,
  • the next at 40%,
  • the next at 20%
  • and the other tournaments at 10%.

Points are counted without rounding for the calculation of tournament points and for the calculation of Tour de France ranking points.

Integration of online tournaments into the Tour de France rankings

Online tournaments are not intended to remain in the Tour de France. As long as participation in online tournaments or tabletop tournaments or the number of tabletop tournaments is deemed insufficient, the Coupe de France web and the French-speaking virtual head-to-head world championship will count towards the Tour de France to encourage online players to take part in tabletop tournaments or vice versa.

The Coupe de France web and the French-speaking virtual head-to-head world championship will count as another Tour de France tournament with the following restrictions:

they will count for a maximum of 80, 40 and 20% in the calculation of results; they will always be counted as the tournaments that have awarded the fewest points to a player.

So if the player has played in an online tournament and another Tour de France tournament, including 0 or 1 non-major tournament, the tournament will count for 80%; 2 non-major tournaments, for 40%; 3 non-major tournaments, for 20%; at least 4 non-major tournaments, for 10%. Since a player may theoretically lose points as a result of the discount, if the number of points lost through the discount is not offset by the number of points gained from the other tournaments that created the discount, apart from the minimum two tournaments played required to be ranked in the Tour de France, the discount will not be applied and the other tournaments will be considered as not played (a player will therefore not be able to lose points by taking part in an additional tournament). If the player has taken part in several online tournaments and the first online tournament (in terms of points won) earns him 80% of the score, the following online tournament(s) will earn him 40% and 20%; if 40% for the first tournament, 20 and 10% for the following ones; if 20 or 10% for the first tournament, 10% for the following ones. Similarly, the discount will not be applied if the player loses points as a result.
